This is my second review unfortunately because my son relapsed most likely because he began hanging out with his old crowd. He was housed at the Agoura location due to his dual diagnosis. As in my first review, which was 5 stars as well, the staff, clinicians, chef, support team could not have been more professional, caring, supportive, and encouraging. I have to mention JR who has always made himself available to address any concerns or questions I had regarding my son. Truly everyone there is committed to helping the clients in any way they can and they make Seasons seem like a family and not just a business. I haven't had this peace of mind in a very long time.

I came to Seasons at the end of last year and stayed for almost 60 days. I'd been in a a couple of different rehabs in Malibu over the years, I tried AA/NA...basically nothing worked! I just couldn't stay sober and I pretty much gave up for a long time. My family told me they were scared I was going to die and I only agreed to come at first because of them. But after a little while, I started to realize things about myself I never understood before. I started to make so much more sense as a person. I felt like I got so much support and attention here, it was a totally different experience than the others I'd tried. Plus the family therapy was a big deal for us, it made coming home so much easier and we are all so much closer now. Feels like I finally have my life back!

I've never experienced such an amazing generous group of individuals. I've worked for Seasons Malibu for Almost a year now and the level of care and concern for the clients is by far the best I've ever experienced. I have worked in this industry for many years with another Malibu facility and I was taken a back by the professionalism and caring nature by the entire staff. I got into this line of work due to the loss and heartbreak I've gone through with losing my older brother to drugs. I come to work in hopes that I can help at least one person not go through what I and my family go through everyday. Here at Seasons Malibu I finally feel like I'm helping. I was welcomed in with open arms and have nothing but respect and admiration for the staff of Care Advocates, The amazing team of Dr's, The admition department and above all the CEO and COO, the care for their clients are above all else the most important aspect in this road to recovery.

I recently completed treatment at Seasons and it was an amazing experience. I have attended several other inpatient facilities and Seasons is by far the most comprehensive and caring place I have ever been. The staff are not only very knowledgeable on substance abuse disorders, but also dig deeper into the causes and core issues that may cause relapse or use. I have gained many new tools to help combat my addiction when I return to my daily life. I have also received thoughtful recommendations on continuing care which I plan on implementing. Overall a positive and helpful experience which will truly help me in my recovery.

As someone who has witnessed the damage and complications that alcoholism can create, I have been impressed by the way Seasons helps family members understand and educate about the disease. It feels so relieving to know that you do not have to feel as helpless when a loved one needs help. I can't say enough about the treatment. I am grateful that such a place exists and can be such a place of hope. Although I know the road to recovery does not end with treatment, Seasons sure does give an opportunity for life to be given again.

I wanted to find a treatment center for trauma work that also took my insurance. It was really hard to find something that met my exact needs. I called Seasons with a million questions and was really interested in how their program isn't "one size fits all" like the other places I was looking at. I spent 6 weeks in this beautiful place and it was a really safe space to deal with some emotions I'd bottled up inside for years, that I was very scared to let out. I had a whole team of people standing behind me, I felt ready to face the world and approach my life in a completely different way than I had before treatment. Coming to Seasons was probably the best decision I've ever made, I can't recommend it enough!

I did a lot of research on treatment centers in my area, obviously there's a lot to choose from. Seasons was the only place who really took their time to answer my questions and show me around the facilities before I made a final decision on where to go for treatment. I'm currently approaching 6 months clean and feel like this miracle could have never been possible without my time in Seasons residential and outpatient program. Yes, you have to truly want sobriety, but it also helps to have a supportive team who wants it for you as badly as you want it for yourself.

Seasons in Malibu saved my life. From the warm and caring staff, the therapies, amenities, the chefs and the other clients. It was a really good experience and sadly, not my first rodeo so I did have a fair amount to compare it to. I've done the 12 step thing, I've done the hospital detoxes and this was the first thing that seemed to work for me. Thanks guys :) Hopefully I never have to see you again (lol).

Here’s the bottom line - if you’re considering entering a luxury rehab, and I’ve been to three of them – you can pay more than Seasons in Malibu charges and get less. Or you can pay less and get a lot less. I can truthfully say, all in all, Seasons is hands down the only place that truly tried to understand and help me. They gave me the tools I needed to finally get a grip on my addiction. As the other reviews say, the staff is great, the food is great, the ocean views are great. But the high level of one-on-one therapy offered by the doctorate level therapists is the big difference maker in my opinion. Check it out yourself if you’re in the need for such a facility. Highly recommended!!

What an awesome staff, what an awesome place! They were able to help my son detox and get him off drugs. It was obvious from the get go that Seasons was deeply invested in my son succeeding and getting well. He had both a mood disorder and substance use problem. He literally was on the street. They were able to take our insurance and help him get a jump start back into his life. I am forever grateful for the work they did. I highly recommend them to any parent.

My son, “Jason,” who is 27 years old, had been doing drugs since he was a teenager, starting with pot and over time escalating to crystal meth and heroin addiction. My wife and I had tried everything to help him turn it around; including three separate stints in different rehabilitation centers costing tens of thousands of dollars. Nothing worked and Jason relapsed each time within weeks of leaving treatment. In a last desperate attempt to get him clean, my wife heard about Seasons in Malibu from some friends and called. They seemed different. She was impressed that all their primary therapists held doctorate degrees in psychology and they offered intensive one-on-one treatment, rather than the groups and 12-step meetings that formed the bulk of what Jason had encountered at the previous treatment centers. We decided to tour the facility and see for ourselves. We met with the Clinical Director, Dr. Stahlhuth, who really impressed us with his deep understanding and experience in the addiction field. He informed us that Seasons is a dual-diagnosis facility, meaning they wouldn’t only focus on my son’s addiction issues, but they would delve deeper into possible underlying psychological issues that could be the root-cause of Jason’s behavior. My wife and I aren’t wealthy, especially after all the money we had already spent for addiction help, but the Seasons admissions counselors were very patient and caring. They researched our health insurance policy and found that it would cover most of the cost of treatment and they offered financing options that covered the rest. After much praying together, we decided to ask our son if he was really ready to get help this time. Thankfully, he said he was. He said his life had grown miserable and he was worried he had no future. He really wanted to get better and go back to school. We knew we shouldn’t wait, so we brought him to Seasons right away. And after about a week of acclimating to their environment and getting detoxed, we started to see someone we hadn’t seen in a long, long time. There was hope in his eyes. We were further shocked and pleased when Jason told us three weeks in that he wanted to extend his stay at Seasons for a second month to make sure he got all the tools and therapy necessary to finally get his life in order. It was tough for us financially, but we found a way to make it happen. That was two years ago this month and I’m very happy to say Jason is graduating from the university soon and already has a job offer. Words cannot express our gratitude. It is our pleasure to post this review. We would absolutely recommend Seasons in Malibu to anyone suffering with the scourge of addiction. They helped my son when no one else could.

When I reached out to Seasons in Malibu, I was pleasantly surprised about the level of concern and care for my loved one. They were patient in hearing my story and why we needed the time to make sure we found the right placement. There was nothing pushy about their tactics and frankly, it was me that kept calling back to ask more questions. By the third or fourth call over the course of a month, the admissions team was familiar and more than accommodating. Finally, when my loved one checked in, we all felt very nervous and read way too many horror stories online. Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted, felt comforted in connecting with the Doctor's almost right away and was given the personal phone number of his case manager to be contacted at any time. His room was beautiful, the grounds and the views were breathtaking. Honestly, I thought rehabs were supposed to be stale and serious environments. The other clients were jovial, kind and clearly felt well taken care of at Seasons. I can't say enough about how they treated me and my family. Although my loved one still has work to do, I know for a fact that Seasons gave him the best chance to be successful in recovery.

Normally I am not someone that does reviews or thinks that they really do much, but my experience with Seasons Recovery Center deserves some acknowledgement for what they did for my sister. My sister was a mess. She started using as a teenager and was able to just have fun for most of her life. Watching her over the years, I was amazed at the way she could just party and still keep her day job. For the past five years she has been living in another state and we have not had as much contact. She moved in with her boyfriend and they appeared to have a great relationship. However, I guess I did not realize that the relationship was actually really emotionally abusive and she started dealing with the abuse through drinking. She went from being the fun party girl to a depressed, recluse with very little contact with me. It made me very nervous because I was getting calls from my mom about how weird she was acting and not talking much about what was going on. Without us knowing, my sister felt so alone and trapped by her boyfriend, not to mention lost her job and started drinking during the day. I let six months pass and I finally decided to go visit her in Texas. She looked awful. She had lost about twenty pounds and looked liked the walking dead. I had an uncle that was an alcoholic supposedly, but I didn't know much about it. Our family immigrated here 35 years ago and my parents know very little about addiction. I felt really worried and scared for my sister. She said she wanted to come home but was afraid to tell her boyfriend. She admitted that she felt like she really had a problem and needed help. After about three months, she finally left him while he was away at work. She left everything back at her house and came to live with me. I had no idea what to do or where to start. I spoke to some friends and colleagues in my law firm. One of my partners openly discussed his own addiction issues and how he got help from Seasons. So I decided to call and get some information. From the get go, I was scrupulous. I wanted to know everything about their program. Not only did they answer every single question and take their time but even the COO called me to make sure I felt educated about what to expect and how treatment is performed. It was obvious that they really cared about my sister getting the help she needed. So we had her go in for 30 days. From the moment she admitted, our family was involved every step of the way. The case managers were incredible, they were able to deal with my highly anxious mother and understand the cultural importance of what they were experiencing. The psychologists allowed my sister to feel like she wasn't crazy for feeling the addiction and found ways for her to better understanding why she uses. I can go on and on. Every time we would go visit, the staff was so warm and welcoming, it felt like a home and not a treatment center. My sister starting acting like herself again, there was a brightness back to her that I had been missing for a long time. I can go on and on. Seasons made us whole again. There are not enough words to describe. I know not every program is perfect and obviously people have different experiences for different reasons. However, I know that Seasons is directly responsible for giving my sister back to me. That is worth taking the twenty minutes to share this with you.

I cannot begin to explain the gratitude I have for Seasons. Choosing to come to Seasons is one of the best decisions I had made for myself. I felt completely lost, had burned all my relationships due to my drug addiction and my depression was making it impossible to do anything in my life. I had very high expectations and I gotta say, I felt like Seasons was 90% of everything they said they were going to be. I mean, sometimes things get screwy. Every now and then maybe there was an issue with transporting us somewhere or maybe they didn’t have enough staff because someone called in sick. I appreciated that they made every effort to meet our needs, even when they were ridiculous sometimes. When I think back, none of that mattered because the therapy saved my life! The amount of attention I get from the staff was overwhelming. All of them exhibited various levels of involvement helping me every step of the way. By the time the weekends would come around I could not wait to get a minute to just breathe and enjoy the view. We were kept very busy. When I look at what some other people write, I can’t believe that they were even clients. Definitely not my experience, nor the experience of the people in my house. Seasons gave me my family back, my trust back with those around me. I am still struggling some with the depression, but I think that is just gonna take some more time. I highly recommend Seasons to anyone.

My mother, who is 61 years old, had been drinking very heavily and taking excessive amounts of Zanex for several years. My brother and I, who didn’t know the extent of her addiction, got this wake-up call after she ran into a tree driving under the influence and ended up at the ER. In a panic, we started searching for the “right place” to get our mom help. We spoke to a number of rehabs that were unimpressive before we contacted the wonderful people at Seasons in Malibu. They were different. John Lloyd, the admissions director, took the time to answer all our questions and made us feel comfortable entrusting our mom to Seasons’ care. He told us that all their primary therapists hold doctorate degrees in psychology, something no other facility offered (I checked). He went into great detail about their focus on one-on-one therapy and the great success they have had with other patients similar to my mom using their “multi-dimensional’ holistic approach to treatment. Obviously, we were sold, and after mom spoke to John, she agreed to get help. We flew with mom to Los Angeles and toured their beautiful facility in Malibu. Mom didn’t want to wait so she checked into treatment that day. My brother and I are very grateful that she did. My mom spent 90 days at Seasons, not only getting medically detoxed by one of their excellent doctors, but examining all the underlying issues, like my dad’s passing and the depression she had been feeling, that were contributing to her self-destructive behavior. Her primary therapist, Dr. Mark, was nothing short of excellent in the way he worked through these things with my mom. We also very much liked that he had us in for family sessions with mom that helped all of us understand so much better what my mom was going through. It’s been 12 months and my mom is now a changed woman, spending quality time with us and her grandchildren, that in the past she was too inebriated or ill-suited to do. She’s also met a very nice man, who is also sober and seems to really care for her. I would highly recommend Seasons Malibu to anyone suffering with this scourge. They couldn’t have been better and we will always be thankful for what they have done for our mom. Sincerely, Jennifer K.

I went to Season's Malibu in May 2014.I spent 5 weeks in this lovely facility.First I spoke with Bruce in admissions. He was very friendly, answered all my ??'s and checked my insurance and got right back to me. I had called several different facilities before i was sold on this one..It was like a 5* resort.great staff, great housing, awesome food, wonderful treatments including, acupuncture, cranial sacral, massage. I was very impressed by the counseling i received which got to the lifetime "core"of my problems which was the reasons i used. Also there is a wonderful lady named Audrey who does spiritual sessions..she's the coolest ever. I now have 70 days clean and sober..my life is much better.I am on a journey of wellness. I can't say enough about how amazing I feel, i am so grateful to EVERYONE at Seasons..they truly gave me my life back..I HIGHLY recommend this place for anyone with any addictions..Tracy Jones Anchorage Alaska
